The TDSB has formed a Program Area Review Team (PART) to discuss proposed changes to school boundaries in our area, affecting six area schools including Rawlinson. The PART includes Principals and School Council representatives from the six area schools.

The review is to study increasing accommodation pressures faced by Regal Road JPS, Perth Avenue PS and their neighbouring schools.  One component of the proposal suggests expanding Rawlinson’s boundaries slightly to include a small area that is currently assigned to Regal Road JPS. The aim is to help Regal Road avoid exceeding its capacity with increasing enrolment due to new housing developments in the area. Rawlinson is currently under capacity and attendance is not forecasted to grow significantly.  Overall this addition is predicted to increase Rawlinson’s attendance by approximately 10-20 students.

The first meeting of the PART took place on April 3, 2018 and a second meeting will occur next week. A public meeting will occur on Monday, April 16th at 6 PM at Oakwood Collegiate Institute, 991 St. Clair Ave. W, in the auditorium. After the public meeting, the PART will meet again to discuss and make its recommendation to the school board.
